Romaine lettuce | ||||
Romaine lettuce, also known as Cos lettuce. Roman lettuce is a variety that grows upwards. The outside leaves are quite stiff and therefore perfect to stew. Their taste is similar to spinach or endive. The heart becomes soft and pale because the head closes at the end of the cultivation. That is why the inner part can be eaten raw. The taste is a little bit more sour than the taste of the cabbage lettuce. |
